Immortal Planet Review

After its release on the PC in 2017, here is the action and RPG game Immortal Planet that reaches all current home devices to try to attract the attention of fans of Souls games from the development team From Software Is it worth the attention? Here's what we'll learn about in this review.

Creatures

In a cold planet covered by ice lives a race of immortal creatures, these creatures do not know true death, they live in a continuous cycle of death and resurrection, which drives many people to madness. This is why these creatures entered into a deep sleep to preserve their identity and forget the suffering imposed by this life, the story puts us In the role of one of these immortal beings who has not lost his mind yet on this cruel planet, as usual, the story is not the most important element of the experience, and some simple texts exist to draw in the minds the background in which the events take place only.

Immortal Planet uses simple cartoon graphics and is far from being exhausted in details and this approach gives the game a beautiful appearance, but despite this, it faces severe frame slowdowns when the screen is crowded with enemies or special effects of fire and other visual effects, and the response becomes very bad and late in such cases At the auditory level, the game introduces some melodies of an epic nature that fulfill its purpose without getting stuck in our minds.

Similar to the Souls Game Series

As we mentioned, Immortal Planet is one of the games similar to the Souls series from Software, and it offers primitive gameplay for these games without trying to provide anything that distinguishes them from the rest of the experiences except for a few simple ideas. The gameplay here is slow and the experience depends on the strategy. The attacks drain the performance counter or Stamina quickly and when that meter is empty, you will be unable to attack or dodge, and the same applies to your opponents.
 Movement for a few seconds.

The experience is undoubtedly difficult, and its flaw is an imbalance in difficulty in many cases, as you are restricted to a slow play, but you find yourselves sometimes facing several enemies at the same time, and winning in such cases is very difficult, especially with the limited number of attacks that can be carried out before the need to Waiting for the performance meter to reach fullness is a slow process. The difficulty increases annoyingly from one trench to another, especially in confrontations with leaders that jump in their level of difficulty and which do not take into account the limitations that we mentioned in the previous lines.

As usual for genre games, you have an object used to restore life points, and a set of magical abilities and tools are available to use them. You can choose one weapon to use and each weapon in the game is distinguished by an alternate phase that activates a specific ability or provides an advantage in combat, when defeating enemies you get experience points that can be used To develop the character, and if you are eliminated, you must return to the same place in which you lost to regain these points, each trench provides a side challenge to test your skills, but I found these challenges confusing, as it puts you in a completely black map and then the floor begins to appear in this map randomly and you will fall a lot in Challenges like this are because you do not understand the actual shape of the map and you can imagine how bored you feel about losing over and over again for this reason.

Treasures

10 hours was enough to finish the game and get most of the treasures in it with the completion of most of the challenges, and we can say that Immortal Planet is a good experience and offers some fun moments when the challenge is balanced, but it targets Dark Souls fans who are looking for difficulty and challenge without being concerned with the variety and many will find it difficult very if you want the usual experience at a quarter of the full price, it is a good experience, but other than that, it is not directed to you.

Immortal Planet

  • A fun experience for genre game pros and a good test of skills - simple and lovely art and graphic approach.
  • An unbalanced difficulty and an experience that many will find very difficult - lags in tires, poor responsiveness, and a number of minor technical problems.
  • Immortal Planet targets professional Souls fans without considering other categories. It is a good and entertaining experience, but it suffers from some technical flaws in addition to an unbalanced difficulty in many cases.
